Tuberculosis (TB) is a major public Health problem in Bangladesh since long. The

Bangladesh TB program has already achieved its global targets for case detection and

treatment success rates. However, there is now consensus that meeting these targets

alone is not enough to reduce morbidity, mortality and transmission of TB. Delays in

case finding are a major problem in Bangladesh. Innovative and sustainable

approaches are needed to increase universal access to TB care in order to ensure that

all TB patients in the urban and rural communities are able to make routine and early

use of high quality diagnosis and treatment services.
